Old traditional Rom Polska (Gypsy) wooden table and kitchen ware hand-carved by Rom Polska (Veshtike Rom) spoon carver who comes from a long line of craftsmen and -women in this field, namely me.
If you are looking for a sustainable wooden kitchen tool, kitchen spoon or eating spoon (or even more than one) which has also culture, tradition and history attached to it you have come to the right place.
The spoons and other products are carved from a variety of hardwoods, some harder than others, maybe, from poplar and willow, over sycamore and hazel to cherry, plum and ash.
Each product is painstakingly carved using only hand tools with the flow, that is to say the grain, of the wood, ensuring strength in structure. After carving they are sanded smooth (though some tool marks will remain) and the bowl at least, in case of a spoon, if burnished.
I call Veshengro WoodWorks the home of the Rom Polska Stirring Wood and that tool will replace, I should think, each and every wooden spoon and such that you have been using in your kitchen so far. Many happy customers from my business past will be able to vouch for that. It is a real multi-tasker and one that is a very old design, not just among the Rom Polska.
